Vintage photograph from Trinidad, Cuba, offering a distinct perspective of historic Spanish architecture and the vista beyond.
Story Behind the Art
This 1948 photograph was taken from the rooftop of the Palacio Banuet, today the Museo Romántico. It was the a perfect spot to capture an unusual view of the bell tower of the Monastery of St. Francis of Assisi.
And, in the distance, you could see the mountains surrounding the Valle de Los Ingenios, or the former valley of sugar plantations during the 18th and 19th centuries.
