This vintage design offers a mesmerizing mix of colors, with textures of reds and oranges set as the backdrop for a Deco-era dancer in a swirl of yellows and blues.

Story Behind the Art

The artist of this was certainly inspired by the music and cabarets of 1920s Cuba that attracted an international set of visitors to the island. The scene is of a singer, with microphone in hand, who dances and turns in her flowing dress. 

The beautiful fabric of her skirt is fashioned after old marbled papers that used to line the covers of antique books. The dress displays an irregular pattern of rounded shapes with intricate shades of blues and grays that contrast against areas of rich yellow.
