Be transported to a vision of romantic Cuba. Elegant wrought iron, terracotta tiled-roofs and an 18th century square around graceful palms.
Story Behind the Image
As one of the first cities to be settled by the Spanish, Trinidad has long attracted visitors for its history and architectural heritage.
My young parents traveled there from Havana in 1948. And with a camera in hand, my father seemed to have enjoyed capturing all the charm and beauty of the old town center.
This stunning photograph was shot from a balcony of the former Palacio Brunet (a spot no longer accessible).
It was the perfect vantage point for taking in the tropical gardens and white coquina walkways around the Plaza Mayor.
