From Old Cuba, this image delights with subtle contrasts, textures and a wonderful depth of field. The sepia tones will transport you back to a sunny and quiet encounter during the last century.
Story Behind the Image
This is an enchanting photograph of a tropical garden in Trinidad, Cuba, 1948.
Captured at the perfect moment by my father, the image frames both my mother and the charming statue that was just behind her.
Together, the two figures create an intriguing scene, as the little stone girl seems to mirror my mother’s contemplative expression and the beautiful curls in her hair.
